Journey into the Neapolitan heart of European classical music for the first concert in this series with two of Adelaide’s most diverse and sought after musicians, Aleksandr Tsiboulski and Simone Slattery. Experience rarely heard works for violin and guitar by Lloyher, Giuliani, Paganini and others performed on a Guadagnini guitar and Pierray violin. Australia’s newest duo create a fresh and intimate sound setting sure to delight the senses.

Lamentation and Exaltation: The Solo Cello of Bach and Britten

Featuring his beloved 1840 ‘Kennedy’ instrument, Principal Cello Simon Cobcroft’s recent Elgar Concerto with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra was described as ‘passionate, intensely lyrical… a wonderfully rich, dark tone’. Join us for the second concert in this series as Simon explores and explains the connections between the masterful solo cello works of Bach and Britten.

Telemann: The Faithful Music Master

With the launch in 1720 of his musical periodical, ‘The Constant Music Master,’ effectively one of the first fan clubs, Telemann was either one of the most democratic of Baroque composers, enabling the musical participation of the middle class, or one of the first classical music superstars, advertising brilliantly to his target market. Signature SeriesCurator Celia Craig and acclaimed local harpsichord expert Glenys March join forces in the final concert of this series to present fascinating music of Telemann and his contemporaries.
