Group Tours

The National Trust offers specialised group tours of Ayers House Museum for social clubs, organisations, charter tours & licensed inbound tour operators. Special packages and discounted admission rates are applicable for groups of 10 or more people. Tours are generally 60 minutes in duration but can be tailored to fit your itinerary. If you have limited time, please contact the Manager to discuss how we can organise a tour to meet your schedule.

Morning & Afternoon Tea Packages

By prior arrangement, your group can also enjoy morning or afternoon tea served in the grand opulence of the State Dining Room.

Our catering package includes tea and coffee with a delicious selection from Baker's Delight (diabetic and gluten free diets can be catered for by prior arrangement).

Rates

Discounted group rates are available to for groups of 10 or more people.

Group Tour Rate: $5.00 per person*
Morning or Afternoon Tea: $3.50
Total Package: $8.50 per person

*Normal full admission price is $8.00 per person.

How to book

The minimum booking for groups is 10 people.

All tour operators and groups must book in advance by contacting the Museum and speaking with the Manager.

Bookings must be made at least five working days prior to visiting and are subject to availability.

Any changes to the booking or numbers attending must be made at least 2 days prior to visiting.

Payment Methods

There are two options for payment. The tour can be paid on the day by either cash or cheque (payable to the National Trust of South Australia), or licensed operators can arrange to be invoiced subject to approval for a credit account.

We strongly recommend that, if paying by cash, admission fees are collected in advance and collective payment is made on behalf of all attendees in order to facilitate entry to the museum.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations will be accepted up to 3 working days prior to visiting, otherwise full payment will be charged.

Tour operators & coach drivers

Ayers House Museum offers free entry to tour operators and coach drivers accompanying booked groups.

Parking & passenger drop-off

Ayers House has an on-site car park available. If coming by private bus or coach, drop-off at the front door (depending on size of coach) or North Terrace entrance gate can be arranged. Free bus parking is available in Plane Tree Drive next to the Botanic Gardens.

Familiarisation visits

Operators are welcome to make an appointment with the Manager to discuss details of their visit and familiarise themselves with the facilities and experience available.

A small Australian cedar bookcase is one of the few items remaining in Ayers House which belonged to Sir Henry. It is filled with books from his extensive personal collection.
