
Admission to the Museum is by guided tour. Ayers House Museum offers a range of guided tours of this historic house and its collections for Individuals, Groups and Schools. Individual tours are available at any time throughout the museum's opening hours whether you are visiting on your own, in a couple or as a family group.
Ayers House Museum contains a significant collection of antique furniture, decorative arts, silver, paintings and costume. Fully guided tours of the 19th century colonial mansion reveal its beautiful hand-painted and stencilled finishes on the walls and ceilings. Tours explore the social history of the period and life for Ayers House occupants both "above and below" stairs.
The museum is split over three levels of Ayers House and includes:
Ground Floor: the State Dining Room and the family dining and sitting rooms
Lower Ground / Basement: Wine cellars, replica kitchen & housekeeper's room and the underground Summer Sitting Room
First Floor: bedrooms, bathroom and nursery.

Admission fees are charged to support the National Trust of South Australia in its ongoing management and conservation of Ayers House Museum.

How to find us
Ayers House Museum is located on Adelaide's main cultural boulevard, North Terrace (No. 288) and is situated within the thriving East End precinct of the CBD.
The Museum is easily reached either on foot or by bus, including the free City Loop service which stops directly at the front of the property. Ayers House also has an on-site car park for those travelling by car.

Education Guides
Please note all tours are conducted in English. Printed Language Guides are available in four languages to assist international visitors in experiencing our museum. Large print and Braille versions of our brochure are also available.
Facilities and Disabled Access
Ayers House Museum has two disabled access points as well as toilet facilities and parking bays. While there is limited disabled access to the ground floor only, the museum offers a range of audio-visual materials which allow visitors with mobility impairment to be able to see other areas of the museum.
